Muscovy Duck (Cairina moschata)
Everyone knows that ducks take to water like fish….well, maybe not everyone, but someone forgot to tell this Muscovy Duck that he’s no fish. Notwithstanding that, however, this male Muscovy put on quite a show recently near my residence. I live near a lake in the Cutler Bay Area (South Florida) along with hundreds of these pesky critters. This guy treated the neighbors and I to quite a treat, however, as he demonstrated his ‘water skills’ for almost an hour which, quite candidly, was most amusing…almost as if he knew he was being photographed.
