My entry for the Signature Dish category. This is definitely my specialty: 100% Whole Wheat Bread. I will include a cursory recipe. If you are not familiar with making yeast breads, you will need more instructions!
100% Whole Wheat Bread
4 1/3 cups whole wheat flour
1 tbsp rapid rise yeast
2 cups milk
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. solid shortening
Mix, knead and let rise twice. Then shape into a loaf and let rise again. Bake at 375° for 40 minutes. Remove from pan immediately. Wait about 15 minutes before slicing with a serrated knife. ENJOY!!

I love the smell of homemade bread...I used to bake bread from scratch in the early years of marriage but after my husband bought a bread machine he likes making bread using that method...( Shhh... Don't tell anyone but sometimes he forgets to add the yeast:)) Then we end up using it for toast....Thanks for the recipe...I love whole wheat bread and the picture looks too good to eat:) It should be bronzed with your signature on it.

Beautifully composed, Don. Not only does it get me salivating, but brings back wonderful childhood memories. My maternal grandmother loved to bake and among her specialties was homemade breads.
