I was staying in a hotel in NYC and was pleased to find this record player in my room, along with an interesting collection of records. I played all of them, none of which were particularly interesting. However, pretending I was a DJ and using them to scratch was mildly entertaining.
This was a fun photo for me, mostly due to the improvised lighting setup:
At camera right I had a desk lamp, which I defused using 2 cloth bags (which had held the iron and the hair dryer). For a bit of additional light I used the display from the clock radio, just off camera to the right. For the light-writing I used my iPod screen.
Exposure time was 17 seconds.
Thanks for looking!

Good photo, but bad for the turntable (scratching on a belt drive).
