A: Do you know?

This photo is of a gypsy woman who was begging on the streets of Amsterdam. The west is often overwhelmed by gypsies begging and many people (including myself) pass them by without even noticing. I tried talking with this woman, but was only unable to act out taking her picture... She did, however, agree for me to take her photo...

Some of them are poor indeed, but some are so rich that we cannot even imagine. Romania is full of them, and are many kinds of gipsy's, 80% live out of making unnecessary kitchen utensils which nowadays nobody buy it anymore, collecting the metal from the streets, reading cards at extortion price, being tifs, or beggars like your photo above. For years in time of Ceausescu they used to cut the limbs of their new born, yes treating them like animals, and send them on the streets to beg, that practise seams to have stopped, but... The other 20% are integrated in between us, sending their children to school, and having a normal life, working, etc...
