I met this man in Santa Monica. I just said "Hi." to him and he said "Oh, a Canon AE-1! Great camera!" He was smoking a half-smoked cigarette he had found. We talked for about 10 minutes about our lives, his kids, our former jobs. Then I asked him if I could take his portrait and he straightened up, smiled and I snapped this. When I got up to leave he said "It was so nice talking to you." I'm not sure if he was homeless or not.
