"its on the outskirts of town
by the rail road track,
where the country moon shines..."
round 3... fight!
my last image for the captains project. i loved this one. cause this song... really and truly changed my life. the song, the chance circumstance (kinda) that presented it to me, theres so much love here.
for real, i was 15? obsessed with surfing! the latest surfing movie came out, and as a grommet, i was was frothing to see the pipeline section. pipe is a beach in hawaii that, still, holds that poetic romanticism that drew us all to the water in the first place. ask any surfer. they'll tell you.
so the pipe section comes... and thats the first time i heard those melodic riffs of... social distortion. social distortion? who the hell is that? um, there only like, pretty much the coolest kids in the entire world. no biggie... but those riffs... gone. i was gone. not only right then did i realise that i would be a part of this culture and surf till i could stand no longer, but i also realised, to my poor mothers dismay, that punk rockin it, is how i would do it.
i now work with both industries, my life revolves around them. i still surf, love SD's, my mum loves me. heaps, and i finally got to shoot this song. i been thinking about since i picked up a camera. those lyrics too. i see train tracks on jpg? i write those lyrics.
now its time just for me, to share with you.
one more thing to share with you. a life in 41/2 minutes. check it.
RIP ronnie. you were a big part of this too. YEW!
blackbird fly TLF 35mm. no screwing with this photo. she's as is. serious. the negative must have twisted or something. any other ideas?...weird anyway. came out sweet though. happy kid here.
(thanks goober. you got no idea bro-seff. i'll explain over another beer.)
