At a pre-dawn springtime shoot in Joshua Tree National Monument, I searched and waited for the sun to rise at an opening in the rock formation. Assuming I had the wrong location, I shouldered my tripod and mounted field cameraand began climbing over rocks to find another site. While making my way through the rocks, I saw the sunlight blinking through a crevice and realized, this was it! Not having time to position the tripod, I cocked the shutter, held the tripod up to face the light and closed the dangling shutter release. Later, after developing the film, I was rewarded with this print.

I feel this Canon Black & White Photo Challenge is the proper site to show it off!
