This motel along Highway 1 along the California coast hearkened back to the 1940's. I was captivated by the fact that nothing had changed except a new coat of paint in all the intervening years. The colors were bland and lacked interest. I almost didn't take the shot until I realized it would make a great black and white image, as I might have taken when I was six years old and had my first Brownie camera. I love this shot!
