This is my liittle yellow female cockatiel, Sunny. She recently laid eggs for the first time. The very first egg she laid happened while I was cuddling her by my neck. She was acting distressed, I did not know why. I was trying to comfort her. She got very quiet for a few minutes and just sat very still next to my neck, snuggled in my hands. I commented to my husband how affectionate she was being and even that she was acting so strangely. He looked over. At that exact moment, out rolled an egg and nestled in a fold of my sweater. I could not believe my eyes. It was her first, and I was not expecting it. She laid 7 over the next few weeks. I'm glad that is over! Now she's back to just being my pet again instead of being all hormonal and spitting at me when I went near her cage. It was lke PMS only worse. She was truly nutty during that time. Merry Christmas!

Ha ha--I have a love bird who, around the holidays last year, laid 4 eggs. Then later she laid 4 more? She's a four-egg bird I'm told? She gets PMS on steroids when she's dealing with eggs, They're always sterile because her partner is a female conure? I call them my lesbian couple.
