Q: I've noticed that five of my uploads have " Hot" in front of the caption. Why are they caterogized that way ?

A: Do you know?

New Year's Resolution
....without waiting to read the manual ~ !
(don't worry, I'll still keep my Canon Powshot SD790, for "emergencies".)

Us guys buy more junk then we need and use it less then we should.

Spent more time fiddling with the camera and less time composing the photo.

We should pick One camera One lens. Trash the rest. Learn that cameras do not create art people do.

That's my vice. I'm trying to recover

What is a manual? LOL!!! I never sat down and read mine. I just looked something up if I needed it. That is what camera club field trips are for. You ask them what to do. LOL. Great shot. I am glad you are not throwing the camera out. The shutterbugs could use it if you did.

Have fun with that new DSLR, lot to lug around but many more options. Joe makes a very good point, I use my little pocket came way more than my DSLR with expensive glass. I do enjoy the big cam but the little one is way more accessible. dp

This is a good message, Maura. As everyone knows, I am just a point-and-shoot guy. If National Geographic notices, then so much the better. But, for me, it is all about the composition and the story. If I can find the shot, I am going to take it, and then I am going to write about it. And I notice other people writing, too. There is nothing so gratifying as getting a message from someone -- like Maura -- telling me that they have enjoyed a narrative I have written.

Of course, the real reason I am here is stated in my bio: To meet nice people and to enjoy their art, ranging from the simple stuff to the masterpieces.

Congratulations on your new camera! I have a similar one and now I'd like a pocket camera -- light, easy to carry around : ))

ROFL!! I too have an SD790... carry it only when I don't expect to be taking photos-- "in case"!! It's so small and unobtrusive!! GREAT shot, Maura, for so many reasons!!

Interesting discussion... I have a point and shoot. Can't afford DSLR. The camera's as good as the person with the eye.
