These are ice crystals that have formed on icicles under extremely low temperatures. When I took this picture yesterday, it was about –15 degrees Celsius. A fascinating sight, but hard to capture. I didn't have a tripod, so I put the camera pointed upwards on a folded out newspaper and tried a few different angles before I got it right. Good fun.
