This was taken during a Gymkhana in upstate NY. On a tight corner this horse and rider nearly went down. Neither did and they finished the race. (The horse did not have a scratch on him.)
NOTE 2/12/2010: Thank you all for your wonderful comments below. They are very much appreciated. This is my first Hot! photo here at JPG. This happened the same week that I found out that this photo, along with two others (Dragonfly and Cardinal posted here), were Merit Award recipients as part of a photo project submitted to the NY Institute of Photography. It's been an exciting week!

She did all the things she was supposed to do: she focused on where she was heading, she gave the horse his neck to figure out how to get through it, she didn't panic. But still....
