I wrote this poem a few months after I got Eddie.
Love
Quick. Sleek. Sly.
He carries wisdom in his green eye.
Sneaky. To say the least.
When prompted cannot be ceased.
Pretends to be another
All within staying true to self.
Curious. Brave.
I know he will never be my slave.
Seasonable.
Does not consent with the unreasonable
But just like the fox
Forever longs to be tamed.
His trust is a treasure.
He loves with no measure.
Explorer of his own fears.
Teaches. Hears.
And when it’s time to be still
He chills.
Loyal. Yes, loyal!
It’s in his essence to be Royal.
Strange. For his kind.
I never know what’s on his mind.

The best thing ever.
