Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

Thank you Anirban. That image was captured a few years ago during one of my January visits to Zion National Park. The Inn - in Springdale - I was staying at had this labyrinth up on the hill behind their facility, so one night I went up with camera, tripod and a flashlight to do some time exposures. This is a three raw exposure merge for HDR on the foreground while using the best exposure of the sky for background and then working in PS using layers and mask to combine the two. Lighting the labyrinth was far less technical. I just moved the beam from my flashlight back and forth during the longest exposure.

Well done! I just shot some night scenes at Zion's this past week and I couldn't get anything like this. Thanks for sharing!

I don't know how you feel about people taking credit for your photos, but thought I'd make you aware that someone on the "yonder app" has posted this photo as their own (bekahblackstock). I don't usually stick my nose in, but I'd want to know if someone did it to me. On a humorous note, she claims to have thrown a rock in the water to get the "ripple" affect.
