I love photographing unique doorways, so no surprise I’m excited over the doorway theme. I’m developing quite a collection of historical and artistic Italian doorways, which I plan to turn into a photo essay soon. Right now, though, I’m busy getting ready for my return trip to Italy, where Fred (my husband) is currently working on a golf course project in Monterosi (30 miles north of Rome). To say the least I had a hard time choosing which of my current favorite Italian doorway shots to enter into this theme. Because of its rich history, incredible architectural features, and beauty, I went for this entrance shot of ancient Rome’s best-preserved edifice that was built in 120 AD, and stands where an earlier temple was built in 27 BC.
