GranJene
This is my GranJene. She goes by that name because, when I was born she told my mom that she fealt "too young" to be a grandmother, so she'd be a "GranJene" instead!
In case, you haven't noticed, she collects Pandas. Stuffed Pandas, Panda clothing, Panda jewelry, Panda lamps, Panda place mats, even Panda silverware! You name it and she's got the "Panda" it. As of July this year she had 3,008 panda bears in her collection, but it's still growing.
Ah relatives, aren't they just barrels of fun?!

Thanks ya'll, GranJene's definitely a character, she speaks with a deep southern accent and is always looking to talk up strangers anywhere she goes. One of my favorite family members for sure!

When you get this photo published, you have to send Grand Jene a copy of it. I bet she'll call everyone she knows and get them to buy a copy of JPG Mag. =)

There are more Panda's at your Granjene house than in the wild...
-
Chris Wesseling gave props (10 Oct 2007):
Does it still fit "Fanatic" if its beyond fanatic?...
-
Andrew Huston said (12 Oct 2007):
Finally a picture that fits the theme like a glove. I knew a woman who collected pigs like this, stuffed pigs, pig sculptures, pig paintings, you name it. Let's take up a collection to send GranJene to Chengdu China to the the Panda Research Center.

Oh dear. I worry that I am slowly becoming this. When I got the panda tattoo, it all started going downhill! Oh well, maybe not such a bad thing to be. Certainly perfect for use in mag.

Very very cool. You got a great portrait, which is what my series really lacked. I think a hundred photographers couldn't catch the vitality and spirit she has, but you come close.
