As a rule I do not like HDR used on standard type photos. Having said that, I believe the technique works nicely here because I am of the view that your intention was to take a step beyond reality. I would wonder what you would get it if you give the shot fresco edges and darken it a bit. At any rate, this is a very nice effort, and I like photographers that want to push the envelope.
