Bamiyan Valley in Hazaristan, homeland of the Hazaras, the Afghan descendants of Genghis Khan. Situated on the ancient Silk Road, Bamiyan became infamously famous when the Taliban dynamited in 2001 its stone Buddhas, which had proudly stood for sixteen centuries carved into a mountainside and were once considered one of the wonders of the world.
