Today was a long dreaded day as we had to take our beloved friend to the vet to end her suffering. She had cancer and we held on to her as long as we could, but today was her "time". We have wonderful memories of her as a bold little kitten the day my husband brought her home. She stepped right between the older cats we had at the time and helped herself to dinner. One of them must have resembled her Momma, as she attached herself to him from the start.
She was a wonderful lap cat too, playful and funny with a personality all her own. She will be dearly missed...

THE CALICO CAT
The Calico cat in the window sat.
What a beautiful cat she was.
She guarded the home, both day and night
and loved to sit in the warm sun light.
She was a dear friend to the very end
but then she had to leave. To cross the Bridge
where we all must go and leave the family to grieve.
Miss Sadie Dear, we will see you again.
The day we too shall cross beyond the Golden Door.
