A window shalt thou make to the ark and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it...Genesis 6: 16
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A typical Saturday,
Is where car after car
Floods the Main Street
Of Red Wing Minnesota.
You don't have to go far
On this busy urban highway
To spend your quota;
Nor complain of tired feet
Wearing Red Wing shoes
Opening the door
To which you may choose
Of a favorite store....
The last place left to park
Showing an empty spot
Bearing stature to its cubit
When life walks thru' it,
Was by a Country Shop
Called Noah's Ark....
Poetry by me, AJP

My husband and I went shopping yesterday in Red Wing, Minnesota. I shot this picture as a passenger when we were going through the town...We did not shop on this end of town but it was fascinating to see all the cars parked on one side..

This is a good looking "urban" shot. "Urban" doesn't mean congestion. This is urban "enough." Are Red Wing shoes made there? If so, what a coincidence that your poetry mentioned tired feet! I bought Red Wings for years!

Thank you everyone for your comments...Yes, Richard...Red Wings Shoes are made there...after you mentioned Red Wing Shoes, Richard, I worked it into my poetry:) Thank you so much for the spotlight...

Red Wing is a nice looking town that looks very litter free! Do they still make the Red Wing shoes there? So many are sent to other countries not to be made and as far as we can see, the quality is going down!

I love this photo, Andrea!! It is so nostalgic and welcoming. I hate shopping malls and avoid them as best I can. This photo is an excellent one for the theme.....and I love the architecture from this period in time!!
