Hero

My Aunt lives in New York. She worked less than 3 blocks from the World Trade Center, Thankfully she made it out of the city unharmed. But having family directly involved in the 9/11 disaster makes me appreciative of all the heroes that keep us safe not only from tragedies but every day.

This image is my remembrance of that day.

It made me reflect on 9/11. What a great loss. I love the composition of this pic and how it moves from darkness to light. Also the use of yellow.

During my last visit to the USA my wife and I deliberately set out to find a Fire Station. We wanted to let the men and women that worked in the service how much we admired their performance and devotion to duty during 9/11. I've never been made to feel more welcome anywhere else in the world.
Your photo uniquely captures the tragedy of that fateful day.
    Empty boots.
    A beautiful, touching photograph.

I love it. A tribute to those who gave the greatest sacrifice for others.
