I found this sign mounted on a post in an abandoned retail store in a town center being renovated. Kind of interesting.
and I wonder how old could this be.

Good catch, Litz! I can remember seeing my first skateboard in 1965.

But otherwise, recreational vehicles, trailers, and 18-wheelers are fine! Don's recollection is similar to mine.

Well, it can't be older than 1950.....that's when skateboarding first started! Good find! And before Richard says something, I personally do not remember when they first came into view! LOL

That is not even plausible denial, Susan. I happen to know that you graduated from Southern California's Gardenia H.S. in 1955 and that your folks gave you and your girlfriends a graduation trip to Rio. That's where I first met you. I remember that you and your friends were skate boarding down the black and white checkerboard squared-sidewalks of Copacabana! Carmen Miranda saw you, offered you a part in her next movie, and you have been wearing fruit in your hair ever since!!! That is where you got your inspiration for your "bubble" shots.

ROFLOL,,.,,you've just added 10 years to my real age, yet with your attention to detail, I can't even come up with a plausible rejoinder!!! You win!! ☺

hahahaha, you two are so funny and very contemporary (I mean you two share the same memories, so skateboarding is older than me?)

I have to let my sons know this..lol. There are new signs around certain parks in NYC. The youth pays no mind to it.

It's a well worn sign with wonderful textures and partially removed paint. Also the wood above it is nice in texture too. I wonder if they meant for them to skate and bike in the street with the cars ;-) LOL to Richard ^^^^^^

I remember my first skateboard too. They were smaller than the ones the kids use today. I can not tell you how many trips to the ER I made with my boys. Great find Litz.
