Q: I am really into my wildlife photography but cannot afford a super zoom lens, I have a 300mm and am considering a teleconvertor. Has anybody had a experience with these and would you recommend them?

A: Do you know?

Surf Scoters are amazing to watch eat, we once counted 14 clams swallowed whole in one feeding.

I've never seen one of these (that I know of). I was wondering what was going on with the beak, and then read your description. Good timing!

A bird I never get to see. Beautiful shot of this scoter at the sushi bar. I was unaware they swalled them whole.

Excellent shot. It took me years to see a Black Scoter, but the more easily found Surf Scoter is a much more attractive bird.
