Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

This is my little Min-Pin, Susie. She was my whole heart! She died in my arms, almost two months ago today, in the ICU of an Emergency Vet. Specialist Hospital in Northern Kentucky, where she spent the last 6 days of her life. She fought a long hard battle with Diabetes, Cushings, blindness that set in a few days before Christmas of '09, and her final battle with Necrotizing Pancreatitis in January. Her ICU nurse told me, two days after meeting the two of us, that she "had never seen a dog and person so bonded, as the two of us were." My heart is still breaking every day from losing her, but, I know she no longer has to have two insulin shots a day, or have her treats "spiked" with medicine. I know she can finally see again--she's no longer blind! I know she's happy, and I am so happy for her, but, at the same time, I am so sad for me.

I wasn't going to put this picture on this site, as it is still so hard for me to look at my beloved little girl, but, not be able to touch her anymore. But, then, I came across Dave Peterson's photo of his dog, and their great bond, along with a fantastic story, and he inspired me to post this shot of My Girl.

Thanks, Dave!

R.I.P. My Little One! 05/25/01 - 01/29/10

You'll be forever missed and loved!
