Roy lives a ways out of our tiny Montana town. He rides his horse into town every couple of weeks to pick up supplies and chat a bit before returning to the hermit life. Sometimes the horse's young colt accompanies them, and occasionally a little border collie as well. He always has a smile and a wave, and though at first glance he's filthy and a little strange-looking, my little girls seem to like him just fine, so that's good enough for me. This was the first time we had ever officially met, and he was more than happy to have his portrait taken, though he laughed and said "I ain't much to look et!" I think there's something kind of magical about him.
