my dad is 78 today. he still farms the ground his father farmed, and he checks his equipment meticulously.

What is the equipment he's inspecting?

thanks, pete! it's called different things in different places, but it's typically referred to as a rolling cultivator. the tines spin around and rip weeds out of the ground as the implement is pulled across the field.
