Long shadows and faceless people have always been a fascination of mine. Henri Cartier-Bresson has shown me that the world can be seen as one feels it, and not necessarily as it is seen. He has inspired me to look beyond what is in front of me, and instead to look within.

Sharon, this is just soooo good. The light shining between that couple, the dark tones, the shadows......beautiful work.

Nice, this is one of the few that is not trying to imitate Bresson, but learn from him.

Beautiful picture and sentiment about Cartier-Bresson. I have had this quote of his as my email sig file for as long as I've had email. You may recognize it: "To take photographs means to recognize-simultaneously and within a fraction of a second-both the fact itself and the rigorous organization of visually perceived forms that give it meaning. It is putting one's head, one's eye and one's heart on the same axis. It's a way of life." - Henri Cartier-Bresson, 1976
