taken just a while ago :) these three kids were wandering in my street when i stopped them for a quick portrait :)
their ages, innocence and witty expressions all hint at the movie slumdog millionaire, to me at least! :)
interestingly, i was using my ultra wideangle lens, generally not considered suitable for portraits, but i guess it did well enough at a focal length equal to 24mm on full frame :)
they belong to the city of Larkana, which is in the Sindh province...
i took a burst of shots and this one turned out to be the best as they were smiling very naturally :) perhaps they were mocking me as i was still in my funny night suit :) haha :)
originally shot as black and white with a strong contrast :) the shot was severely over exposed, but thanks to RAW, i was able to pull all the crucial detail back in (using minus exposure compensation in Capture NX) :)
thanks for viewing :) let's see what you think of this one :)

Marco Martinez gave props (4 Apr 2010):
Beautiful tones -- I really like how you gauge tones and light to bring out the best in a scene. Excellent portrait.
