Cartier-Bresson was one of my biggest influences as a photographer because of his amazing sense of composition and human expression in his work (especially with kids). Like Bresson, I began as a painter and there are some senseabilities which I believe remain. Most of all I was enraptured early on as a photographer by the sense of truth found in his work. This shot, like most of my work was taken on the street as I walked by.

Wow, so intense. The colors, the contrast, the motion and expression suggested in the silhouetted people all makes for a powerful image. What puts this photo over the edge for me is the person closest to the camera, with mouth slightly ajar. That little detail takes the shot to a whole new level I think.
