One evening at sunset I was photographing a young woman working a horse in a paddock. She was struggling a bit with the horse as it is normally a horse that pulls a carriage...in a team and the other horse was still in her stall.
Suddenly the horse locked his legs and turned directly at me. Running straight through a pole I was leaning on.
My first instinct, DUCK and keep shooting.
Horse and rider were fine, the pole snapped in half...I stood up covered in mud and yelled... I THINK I GOT THE SHOT!!
The hairs on my arms still stand up when I tell the story. How insulated we become when we view life through our lens'.
So, that is my Favorite Mistake...one of many but you only get so much space to leave a message here. Then there was the time I fell through the ice...climbed out and found the pattern of the broken ice fascinating and ended up taking 50 photos of THAT mistake. :)
