Henri Cartier-Bresson's work embodies observational street photography at its best. The immediacy of his characters as they go about and play out their lives is simply striking and and inspiration for me. In this day and age of public suspicion about camera-toting terrorists, however, street photography has lost some of its in-your-face-close-up feel of. Many photographers have a story to tell about police 'concerns' and outright harassment by security guards. Yet, intrepid individuals are still managing to pull off great work.
