I took this picture in Gulu, Uganda on my summer trip to Africa in 2009. I was at a orphanage and this beautiful little girl who seemed to be wise beyond her years.

This is a very striking picture. To work at an orphanage in Africa is my wife's dream. We are currently working as teachers in rural China, now so we will see what the future holds, but an amazing documentation of the spirit of this young child.
