Once you take in the impressive striped marble pillars within Siena’s duomo the eye is drawn above to the numerous sculpted heads lining the nave. Each represents a pope.

Richard in awe of Siena's Duomo! (Susan had the same idea.) My younger daughter, now back in Dallas, lived in Rome for four years. Siena was a favorite destination.
