The cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together:and the lion shall eat straw like the ox...The earth shall be full of knowledge of the Lord...Isaiah 11:7-9

Cows like to ruminate,

As they contemplate;

Chewing their cud

To watch life bud.

Poetry by me AJP

---------------------------

Yesterday my husband and I went grocery shopping in a neighboring town and on the ride, I quickly shot this picture as a passenger from the moving car. I didn't have too much time to aim but I kind of like the results anyway...

The cows looked so peaceful and content in their surroundings as they were chewing their cud.

    Ruminating is what they do best! Excellent shot, Andrea! The better to make all that good Wisconsin cheese :-)

    My mother says she could taste the silage in their milk in springtime. Raw milk, of course. Wonderful little shot!

    Thanks all for the comments...John, ruminating is good when compared to meditating good thoughts to ponder and reflect over and over as a cow chews his cud and appreciates all that he has to chew.

    When a "cow" would chew "his" cud, Andrea? LOL (Don't mind me. I'm just trying to "get your goat.")

    I stand corrected...I should have said bovine, Richard which could be either female or male that might chew their cud...In the situation of a cow

    it is female, you are right...You can tell I am not a farmer:)
