Was at the jobsite today working and had no idea this was right beside me until....I stepped on it... OMG I about jumped out of my pants. I don't like snakes no matter what kind they are. I have no idea what kind of snake this is, but would like to know so if you do let me know.
Ewwwwee This was creepy to me. And NO I did not kill it, it was gently relocated with a long stick.

I'm with you, a snake is a snake, no matter whether poisonous or not - I do not want to be around them!!! Great shot of it though : )

Yikes I know I would be squeamish also if I stepped on a live snake..I have never cared that much for snakes since as a child was chased by school yard bully... a kid who had a dried pine snake skin in his hand...I didn't realize at the time it was dead and thought it was alive:)

A great shot, Linda!! It has characteristics of a cottonmouth moccasin, which is venomous and found in the South. Regenia may have identified it correctly.

I can imagine how much tha scared you! But at least you had the prescense of mind to take it photo! When I was little and playing in the woods I had a snake crawl right over the top of my foot. I only remembered from a movie to stay perfectly still and boy did I ! I did not breeathe I swear! That huge snake took for what seemed like an eternity to crawl on its way and when I felt like I could run without it eating me up I took off like the hounds of He**! I don't even think my feet touched the ground I ran home so fast!

Oh my! I'm with you....I would have jumped a mile while screaming like crazy. I agree with Karen. Being the true photographer, you had the courage to turn and take it's picture! Good for you!!
