Debra and I were on a 12 mile hike across mountain passes over Emerald Lake in Yoho, British Columbia.
Two of these adorable grouse (??) walked over to us unafraid...

Lovely shot of what appears to me to be a female spruce grouse (Falcipennis canadensis). This lady appears to be in her red-morph phase. Beautiful color and gorgeous feather patterns.

Great capture. We have a pair of ruffed grouse roaming our property in Northern Ontario, but I've never been able to get a shot of them.
