I NEVER dreamed it would work! I have to admit I’ve been working on this invention a whole lot longer than I ever worked on any of the others. After all, it is a bit more complicated…’s TIME TRAVEL!! The entire time I was perfecting the lawn paint and the lawnblower, all the time I spent trying to fulfill the requests of my fellow JPG’er, all the while I was sewing the various costumes Jimmy and I wore, I was working on time travel. I thought if I could just perfect it in time for Saturday shot #52, what a coup that would be. And of course throughout the course of the year, I wondered how I would implement the invention, should I indeed succeed. I thought about scooping up everyone who attended last year’s Nutball Party and plopping them all down in the yard for a mid-year extravaganza. I was all set to push the ‘just do it’ button, when I realized it would be a logistical nightmare. What if people were busy, out of town, working, or heaven forbid—in the shower. Talk about the ultimate ‘come as you are’ party!! Then I considered the pick and choose method, but considering I have 885 contacts, there were bound to be hurt feelings. Or even worse, what if I chose someone who couldn’t care less about my Saturday shenanigans and only added me as a contact out of pity…..AWKWARD!! So I threw caution to the wind….the wind threw it back at me, then it hit me------I’ll get the guy who started it all! So I activated the GPS (ginormous peeping seeker), set my phasers on stun, smacked the swash button (aka ‘just do it’) and hoped for the best.

And look what materialized before my very eyes…..the one, the only, the original Oregon Curly and his lovely wife, Joyce! (a special thank you goes out to the BGA (Big Guy Above) for having them fully clothed and NOT in the shower!!)

I’m pleased to note that although they hadn’t fully materialized at the time of my shot, they filled out quite nicely within a few minutes, and we had a great reunion. I also must address a concern that I’m sure more than a few of you had… don’t see the actual machine used to facilitate the time travel. I don’t have the patent yet, and in this day and age, you can’t be too careful!

Oh, and one final note…..there was one slight glitch in the ‘return’ feature of my machine, and I am now accepting any and all donations toward the purchase of 2 one-way tickets to Oregon. OC and Joyce say they love it here, but they’re continually clicking their heels together and mumbling something that sounds a lot like ‘there’s no place like home’.

I hope everyone has enjoyed viewing and reading this series as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it! Thank you as always for your wonderful and often hilarious comments.

Thanks to Oregon Curly for the theme…same shot, same spot, every Saturday for a year.

MWAHHHAAHHHHHAAAAA This is the best laugh we've had all week, and then some! We are also glad to have not been in the shower, or a few other places as well. And thank goodness I wasn't riding my ATV!! ;-) Your yard certainly has greened up a bit in the last couple weeks. Our heartfelt thanks to you, and all the others, for playing along with this year long project. We have certainly enjoyed all the laughs and suspense of waiting for your next surprise laugh on Saturday...and I think I can safely speak for most, if not all, of the viewers, please don't stop now!

Congratulations Susan on completing your 52/52 series!!! I love how you invented this time travel thing, so get it patented so the rest of us can get one!!!Gasp, gasp ... I was laughing so hard at this I had to go away from the computer to get a hold of myself. Oh my, my sides do ache from that gut wrenching laugh!!! Since laughter is good for the soul, my soul is good to go for a while now : ) I always regretted that I did not do OC's 52 Saturday shots so I started one myself of just my project (anyone can do it themselves though). One reason that I did not do the 52 shots is my yard never seems to change. Well ... let me tell you, that is about to change!!! I know, I started the series too soon, in January. I really thought that we would be well under way with our back yard renovation. Red tape, decisions, etc., have prevented the start of the renovation but it is slowly making forward movement now. I had to get a survey of our property first. Done. I had many decision to make with a few people who were going to be doing the work here. Done. I signed the contract for the pool removal and new one to be installed and put a chunk of money down on it. Yesterday the fence guy was here and measured for the new fence. The architect had to draw an official drawing, that is done and went to the pool company who in turn hand carried it to the city for their approval. City now has to give their approval, it should be coming tomorrow - we hope!!! Demolition on the old pool is tentatively projected to start mid week or beginning of next week. Stay tuned for my back yard renovation which is now into the fourth month, as you can see, most of the work done so far has been things that I cannot photograph : )
