Two important figures in my life are shown here on a very special day. My trusted friend Rob spent the day with us to help with the challenge of sending my 12 year old Lab/Wolfhound mix Melvin to his resting place.

Rob played a big role in Melvin's life, walking with us and his dog Jewel. He cared for Melvin sometimes when I traveled, and he was in the room when Melvin braved his fate. He also supplied the box that now carries Melvin back to dirt and the Earth.

Sometimes, a heart just slows pumping of blood and this creates complications in the body. Muscles begin to break down, digestion becomes difficult, normal daily activity becomes impossible. Melvin was faced with this reality after a wonderful life of teaching and inspiring others. He was strong but gentle, kind yet fierce, his heart was light and loving right up to the last moment.

The turning point, the place where I am left alone to move on and find another place to share my abundance of love. That place is here, and life goes on, love must survive.

This, although very sad, is a phenomenal portrayal of a turning point. Going from death and mourning, to moving on to another day without your loved one. I have experienced this.

I'm sorry not to have commented earlier, thanks to all of you. I stopped in tonight, looked at Melvin and read all your comments, then cried. I miss this dog, so much. One can only wish to experience love like that again, he truly is an amazing animal. Still I carry his influence, it is beyond my understanding. Thank you all.

Peace n respect Chris....... Up with Melvin's spirit........ this is an honest photo document.... the very edge of photography......thnx 4 shareing........ our four legged companions walk with us for spiritual reasons....there are trueths why animals seek us to be "friends".... we do not seek them , they seek us....you gave love , gave life, gave friendship,.. the spirit of Melvin will always walk by your side for the rest of your path on this planet.... and if you pay attention the peripheral vision...you will catch a glimpse of his spirit with you.... wonderful burial gifts....Spirit realm welcomes Melvin into the spirit of the four legged soul realm. Namaste :-)
