An image from my water drop/high-speed photo project. Due to lack of high-speed photography equipment, I used the trial and error method--experimenting with water depth, placement of colored gel filters from the darkroom, viscosity of fluids, external flash positioning, and of course shutter speed and aperture. The different colors are caused by one filter behind the tray of water and a different color above. The flash bounces from the back filter to the top filter and down to the water, creating a spectrum of different colors.
In the story Water: A Daily Form of Art.
