Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

She is from Germany and during the snowy season we decided to swap film to see the contrast between snow and sand/sea.

She provided the film and did the first layer---I finished it off by the sea.

While the nuances of the snow are subtle...it has in fact added textural interest to these frames, and if you look--see beyond the obvious you will see more.
