"The monument of liberalization of Riga" is a group of huge sculptures in "the Park of victory" in Riga, erected in 1985 to commemorate the end of WWII and the victory over Nazi Germany. For Latvia this was not only the end of the war, but the beginning of the Soviet occupation, that lasted for 50 years.
This picture was taken in May 2010, the flowers are from 9 May, the Russian traditional day to celebrate the victory.
