To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven..A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away....Ecclesiastes 3:1-6
------------------------------------

The self-timer is a feature on my camera Nikon 40 DX that I have made good use of:) JPG offered us the option of a theme challenge to do a daily diary self portrait series for a year.

This is a re-post .. I feel this is more my natural self than the stiff formal picture I was going to use before on this theme:) ...It was hot and muggy outside today and I was sweating profusely... but this is life as it is, enjoying the Oriental Poppy flowers blooming in our garden and I am not trying to be anyone else but me...

Another feature that I like besides the self timer is the manual focus mode which I used here on this portrait ..

Shutter speed 1/100 sec.
Aperture f/8
ISO 400
Focal length 127 mm
Light source cloudy weather

I agree, this post is much more natural, although I liked the formal type pose also. We are having that hot and muggy weather also. The Oriental Poppy is a beautiful bloom : )

Thank you everyone for your kind words...It is good that I did the self portrait when I did because shortly after we had a big thunder storm!
