DR or Dynamic Range - the ability to reproduce the darkest darks to the brightest brights - is not a feature that many digital camera users talk about or know about. Unless they own a Fujifilm with the Super CCD sensor.
This is the one feature where Fujifilm is king. Untouchable. No other brand of digital camera, no matter how technologically advanced or costly, comes close!
For this reason, the Fujifilm S5 Pro DSLR, which I bought in November 2007, is often touted as a "wedding camera" as it renders very well the groom in black and the bride in white.
But even though I am not a wedding photographer, I greatly appreciate the extended DR of my Fujifilm. In an image like this, shot off a shop window display, I can confidently say that ALL other cameras would produce a large patch of distracting brightness on the right. The Fujifilm S5 Pro provides enough brightness to add brilliance, but minus the glare.
