Nice Lise - the light captured beautifully - I feel like I'm standing there in person viewing it. It's cloudy here today - just doesn't give the same photo ops!

Cloudy here too today, Anne, but last night was clear, as you can see. Thank you for kind words!

Moody and evocative, Lise. Nice dedication, too. Are you above the arctic circle there? Will the sun dip below the horizon?

Lise, I saw a couple of Edvard Munch's paintings in the Art Institute of Chicago.... thought about you in Norway.... light and dark... so much darkness at times...

Lise Utne said (16 Jun 2010):

Thanks, Pascal, Maura, Richard, Debrah... and all...! Richard, we are at 63°25′49″N here in Trondheim, whereas the arctic circle is at 66°33′06″N (or thereabouts). The sun does dip below the horizon even in midsummer where I'm at, in other words, and even in the deepest of midwinter, it's above the horizon for a while every day. However, half the country, lengthwise, lies north of the arctic cirle. Debrah, thanks for thinking of me while enjoying Munch paintings in Chicago -- almost as good as being there in person ;-) !

Glad if I've reminded you, Michael, although you don't seem to need any reminders, judging by your photos. Richard, thanks for bearing with me. And thanks for your faves, everyone!

This is a magical capture Lise and thank you for bringing this to our attention because here in Florida we do not experience the feeling of your capture, and it is good to have it brought to our attention what others feel and what goes on in other places.

Warm dramatic light softly-pushing through the crack tells us that water isn't the only thing that finds its way--the flares really top this off beautifully
