Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?

I know that the birds are very small in these photos but I could not help capturing them, it is unusual to see an obvious couple of friends sharing a swim, a flight and a meal and it certainly seemed like they have a real and deep friendship. For me it was more important to capture this intimacy even at a distance.

Enormously important...and so very beautiful. It is so easy to miss the finer print.

    Amo-o, my dear friend...:)

No...these birds are not too small. No, indeed. Sometimes those things which seem the farthest from us are actually the closest. This image has moved me to tears.
