Last year at about this time I had the great pleasure of meeting JPGer friend Antonio Lovison (goes by Lowison) and his sweet wife, Adriana. They drove down from their home in Padova, Italy to where Fred and I at the time lived near Siena and stayed with us for a couple of days. To say the least, we all clicked. The hours I spent exploring some of Tuscany with my new friends and taking pictures with Antonio, remain among the highlights of my life. Among the precious keepsake gifts Antonio gave me, are these two books showcasing some of his astounding work. Through his photography I not only fell in love with the beauty of geometry, but developed a heightened awareness of how what initially appears mundane can offer an array of interpretive meanings as well as aesthetic pleasures.
Note for my JPG friends: Fred and I are so….excited. This coming Sunday our daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters will arrive in Rome for a two week visit. No doubt during that time I’ll get behind on commenting on your wonderful photos.
