This is the last shot I got of the complete family of five Horned Grebes. The male was not around the next morning when we went out to check. We have no idea whether something caught him or if he simply left. And it has finally been established that they are not ducks but Horned Grebes, which have never nested here before to our knowledge.

They may have been there all the time. Its just as we get older, we have more time to look and enjoy nature. So glad they are all about.
