After the high winds we had last week the Grebes finally get a chance to rest on calm waters. The mother Grebe is obviously feeling the loss of her mate, shying away and quickly bustling her young away when we approach the pond, so all my pics are long distance shots. She appears quite nervous and interestingly the one little chick which previously stayed close to the male, usually sticks to himself. This was an unusual capture of all four of them resting close together.
