On my way from Figueres to Lleida to go visit Llorenç, I stopped for breaks a few times at the excellent service areas dotted along the Cataluñan freeways. I was surprised to find that the food there is really excellent, and that they all feature public art - albeit of debatable quality. When Llorenç and I discussed the writing of Juan Nogué about the transformation of landscape, these rest area sculptures were one of the examples that came to the fore: No one in Cataluã even notices them, they are in effect only visible to a visitor's eyes.
