If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

Our daughter Kim, son-in-law Max, and granddaughters Sasha (9) and Ashlyn (5) arrived in Rome on June 20th. Not only had Sasha and Ashlyn never experienced jet-lag, it was Ashlyn’s first plane trip. As expected, Ashlyn loved take-offs and landings (she’s really into speed), but found most of the plane rides boring and tiring. She did, though, handle the long trip well, as did her big sister. A couple of hours after arriving at our home in Monterosi, Ashlyn asked to go to bed and quickly fell asleep. Sasha, a country girl at heart, said she wasn’t tired and wanted to see the ancient Roman road at the end of the old gravel one that leads to the tufa farm house we currently call home. I captured this shot of Sasha returning to the farm house after she took pictures of the Roman road with the Fuji digital camera Grandpa gave her (she loves the camera and within a short time figured out many of its features without help). She’s wearing Grandpa’s windbreaker, because I told Kim just to bring summer clothing. Well, we went from 95 the day before they arrived down to a windy high 60’s the day they got here. Thankfully, it warmed up the next day. BTW, Sasha climbed two hills after she got back to the house and then collapsed for hours.
For my JPG friends: Yesterday my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters headed back to their home in Dallas. All of them fell in love with Italy. As I mentioned, I took loads of photos while they were here (nineteen albums). Over time will post the best image from each album. This coming Sunday I’ll take off for my home in the Dallas area. I’ll return to Italy mid-September.
